Detailed Centrifugal Pumps Description
Working principle:
This series consists of pumps with a single centrifugal impeller. The
impeller, mounted on the end of the motor shaft, directly faces the
suction opening machined in the pump body. As
the result of precise design choice, these pumps have an essential
form and have obtained specific performance characteristics. The shape of the
impeller transmits a radial motion to the fluid from the centre
outwards, with minimum hydraulic loss. After leaving the impeller, the
fluid passes to the volute and tapered diffuser which transform part
of the kinetic energy into pressure energy. The blades inside the
impeller channel transfer energy to the fluid both in the form of
pressure and an increase in speed.
Installation:
These pumps should be installed in a covered area, protected
against the weather. They are
extremely reliable and simple to use, quiet and virtually maintenance-
free, widely used in domestic civil applications, such as in particular
automatic distribution of water from small and medium - sized surge
tanks, transferring water and watering gardens.
Application:
These pumps are suitable for pumping clean water and fluids which
are not chemically aggressive to the pump components.
Performance:
a) Ample and stable characteristic curves
b) Output: good absolute valves and technically flat curves
c) First absorption curves at high delivery rates, prevents motor
overloading even during prolonged use
d) Good suction capacities both at low and high delivery rates
Structural characteristics:
a) Cast iron pump body, with UNISO228 / 1 gas threaded suction
and delivery openings
b) Stainless steel pump body cover in cast iron on more powerful
models
c) Brass impeller, centrifugal radial flow type
d) Stainless steel motor shaft
e) Ceramic and graphite mechanical seal
f) Motor: the pumps are coupled directly to asynchronous and high
efficient "TAIFU" induction motors of suitable sizes, which runs
quietly and are closed and externally ventilated for continuous duty
Insulation (class ):
The thermal cutout relay is incorporated in single - phase motors.
Three - phase motors require adequate external motor protectors,
with connections according to current standards
